    For those that might not fully understand the differences, here is a picture:

    The choice of buffer and spring depends on the length of the buffer tube, not the barrel or gas system.
    You match up the buffer length to the tube length.
    You use the proper spring for the buffer and tube length.

    Most work performed while-you-wait.

      Thanks for the detailed explanation.
      I'm slowly learning how these things fit together & work.

      So what determines rifle or carbine tube, just stock type used?

        Randal..................thanks bro............this is good info!
        Ok so this is what I did;
        bought a dowel, drilled a nice hole in 25 Pence, and viola!!!
        So I havent drilled a hole in an age. I kept trying to drill it but It just wont drill and I am like darn these UK coins are super strong. I then realized the drill was rotating counter clockwise!

            I've heard it's a good idea to run heavy buffers in car length. If true, which is better to use H1 or H2?

              Depends on the barrel.

                  THANK YOU, Randall!

                  I'm building my first OLL and was puzzling through this CAR vs A2 buffer tube business.
