Mounting a Red Dot to a USP and Mark 23

Good morning folks, got a technical question for you all.

So I've fallen in love with the Trijicon RMR style red dot sights and I've been looking into getting them mounted to my pistols. Now I already have a Burris Fastfire III mount that didn't work out with my Desert Eagle so I'd like to mount it to my full sized USP 9mm. For my Mark 23, I decided I'd splurge a bit and get a Trijicon RMR as they appear to be the top of the line as far as pistol red dot sights go. To explain I pretty much only take these guns to the range so they'd be plinkers and target guns nothing more.

Now this beggers the question? What are my mounting options for these two pistols?

I looked around the web and there definitely appears to be a robust aftermarket for mounting plates and options for other guns like the Glocks, 1911s and FNX pistols but I can't seem to find out what my options are with the H&K pistols. Am I pretty much limited to taking the guns to a gunsmith to mill down the slide to get them installed or did I miss some obscure mounting option?

As always, any information is appreciated.

Thankee kindly. Looks like this will be a lot more complicated than I thought. It seems the firing pin safeties are embedded in the slide which obviates machingin the slide down like a glock...it's looking more and more like getting a custom rear site dovetail adapter installed and then mounting the site to that, but then I don't have co-witness. Urgh...so much for a simple solution....

you're not going to get these to co witness anyway, I don't believe you can do that on a glock either as you'd have to machine the slide down so far to get the sight low enough to co witness you'd be into the internals.

adapter plate with correct dove tail is about you only option.

Like this? Sorry for the necropost.

RMR installed by Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gunworks. The factory sights are visible in the lower third of the window.

ETA: For some reason the finish on the gun looks like a mess in this photo. It's actually flawless.
