ar308 80% help

finished the lower and installed the lpk and stock on no problems.


I went to mount the upper on it and the bolt will not rack back. it looks like the bcg catch when the upper is mounted on the lower it pushes the bolt catch up and blocks the bcg from traveling backwards. Is there a bolt catch that extends out or do i just need to file down the bolt catch for the proper clearance?

Do you have the Quentin Defense 80% lower? I had a similar problem with my bolt catch. I used the suggestion from another cal guns member to resolve the problem. See the following link: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=650441

its a tactical machining 80% lower. i was wondering if i bought the phase 5 ebv2 bolt catch if that would extend it enough away from the upper to create enough separation from the upper to give me the clearance i need.

TM are usually trouble free. Are you using a DPMS 308 bolt catch ?

first lets correct the terminology. what you have is an AR308 or an LR308 not an AR10, Not trying to be a Nazi but there are marked differences between the two and it not just the mags and the angle cut at the rear.

two the TM upper is clearanced to allow the bolt catch to to rest out of the way.

what part of the bolt catch is hitting the upper and where??

its a tm lower and a psa upper.

the upper is pushing the button out. ill try and post pics in a bit.

PSA upper "PA10" I do not believe that it is compatible with LR308 lowers.

They have a "PA10" lower parts kit with a few proprietary parts including the bolt catch that must be used even when using their "PA10" lower. Hope this helps.

PSA, Please clarify on you PA-10 lowers that customers will need to buy a PSA lpk in order for your customers to properly build their lowers.

I am a loyal customer and purchased one of your lowers, but decided to go with a 308 LPK from a different company. The lowers you are selling are only described as a 308 lower with nothing else. When PSA first introduced the PA-10 lower, PSA actively went on gun forums and stated they are DPMS style 308 lowers (hence why I bought a DPMS 308 style LPK). Well thats not the case. The pivot pin, take down pin, and bolt catch are specific to the PA-10. Now I have a build that requires those parts.

I think its rediculous to pay 15 bucks for each pin. I know you have LPK available for 80 bucks, but honestly I dont need anymore misc. parts laying around.

I know I am not the only one who has attempted to leave a review on your website (to only not be published). Searching through the wide variety of gun forums there are a lot of unhappy loyal customers that have felt they are misled by the discription on your website regarding the PA-10 lowers.

Besides me ranting on I am wondering why you guys dont put back in stock the PSA PA-10 upgrade kit for 30 dollars. Obviously you guys have the parts because your are selling each one at a outrageous price. It's like give buyers a better option who were misled by your discription regarding your PA-10, because obviously its not a DPMS 308 pattern type lower.

I'm using a cmmg lpk with and 2 stage trigger. Hopefully i need just the bolt catch otherwise ill be boxing it up and sending it right back. Wish i saw that thread before i ordered it.

And that is with him using their lower.
If the Walmart PA10 upper is proprietary to PA10 lowers and the PA10 LPK doesn't work...I would send it back and get an LR308 upper...that's just me though.

Great info, Thanks for posting this info. I was going to buy a 308 upper this weekend. free shipping isn't worth it.
OP, you might want to consider returning the upper. once fired you will have a paperweight. consider returning or exchange or store credit, maybe they will waive the restocking fee.

I haven't fired it. I was just thinking maybe if it's just the bolt catch that is getting in the way that if I bought the one they offered it would give me enough clearance. And hopefully fix the problem.
