    Yugoslavia front trunion

Anyone know if the lips on the Yugoslavia front trunion can be milled off and used in an akm receiver?

Sure. Anything's possible, but a trade would be easier. Yugo parts are not as plentiful.

He doesn't want to use a Yugo flat?

He has nds receivers Romanian kits are 200 more and Hungarian are 100 more than the Yugoslavia kits. He feels that, for the price of a barrel he would be better off with a, Yugoslavia, kit.
he has a, mill at work a, dpms ar tool to populate the barrel a long rivet tool and the trigger guard tool. He just need a, kit and short rivet tool. I told him a couple of years ago to get kits before receivers but, nooooo. I went with the Virgin kit first. I paid $20 more for my receiver but my kit was $119 shipped to my door in 2005. Man I wish I would have bought 5 more.
With 922 parts I think I'm sub $300 on my ak. I just want to drill my rear rivet to put in a, optic rail like most has today.

Just remember that the Yugo trunions are narrower (once you mill the bulge off) due to the 1.5mm receiver (same OD as the 1mm receiver) so he will need to shim the trunions .5mm on each side.

IIRC it has a bunch of notches in it , you can use it to hold the gas block etc. while you push the barrel into it. Not ideal but it gets the job done caveman style. It's probably enough to make a machinist like yourself have nightmares, lol.

Wait the hunk bar stock with notches in it that I use to populate your barrels with ain't good enough??

I have an AR multi tool but I would never have thought to use it for a AK barrel tool I just took a hunk of bar stock and cut the correct sized grooves in it.

That's what I mean, correct sized grooves. There is a guy selling those widgets for different barrels.

I helped a, buddy with a 74. We used the dpms ar tool!!! I saw it on youtube. I couldn't believe it worked. It took a few times to press check to be straight. Mic the barrel and inside of the parts first . Grease helps.
