To my knowledge this is the first time the CETME model L has been readily available to US shooters/collectors/Builders.
It will take a bit of time before "industry" catches up with a US barrel & semi-auto receiver & parts.

Right now is a good time to by as these are an "introductory sale price"

Ordered mine today, will post some pics when it comes in. Pretty unique Spanish design that developed the CETME into a purpose built 5.56.

Weather was really nice this afternoon and so we seized the opportunity to move the pallets of kits out to the yard and get them sorted/handled.
You should see shipping notices on Wednesday.

Weather today was not the 55 degrees we had on Tuesday!

            Same spot on Wednesday!

We concentrated on getting orders packed and shipped!
Our customers should be receiving their "good" condition CETME Model L kits soon.

              Thinking about getting a kit
But I'm not really the patient type. I wonder how long it will take vendors to come out with barrels and receivers

Mine will arrive this monday and will share some pics. I hope it comes with the 3 prong flash hider which I requested.
At first I ordered the new year sale kgkt kit only but when I learned a day later that the cetme is already available, I immediately called apex to get the cetme added to my order. Their customer service is great.

I suspect a long wait; this isn't a gun with wide usage. So the potential market is pretty small compared to an AK. APEX might have to contract with someone to make the needed parts...

I agree that it will not be as popular as an AK. It is basically an HK33 that uses AR mags. I think that it will be more popular than the HK33 due to the mag compatibility, the HK33 has a good following.

Apex hasn't disclosed how many kits they've bought, only that they bought them all. If the number is over 5k, I think that's enough for any parts mfg. to tool up some basic parts. If the number of kits is higher, like 25K. I think you'll see some mfg's racing to be the first to get barrels and receivers out to the buyers of these kits before someone else captures the bulk of the sales.

Personally, I was looking into building a HK33, which are normally $500 kits. This thing is half the price AND it uses AR mags... win...win...

Here is a link showing the activities of one company who is striving to build the receiver for the CETME Model L:

Curious to see how close a hk33 is to this guy.

Not like an HK33, might be closer to the HK G36.
I have customers who have machine turned a HK33 barrel to fit the CETME L trunnion and front sight block.
One detail on that is the CETME L barrel has a flange at the breech end that rests against the trunnion and supports the barrel keeping it in place.
