    Installing AK Buttstock

    Hi Guys.......

Okay, I have a virgin Polish wood buttstock Im trying to install on a milled receiver. Im having trouble making it fit the upper and lower reveiver tangs. Do I need to carve out the tang channels on the stock? Feels very tight.........

Thanks for the help and Happy New Year!

Milled and stamped receiver buttstocks are different.

That said, if you have the correct milled stock, it should have *at least* the top channel already cut in.

It really helps if you have an X-acto knife kit with various blades and a soft face dead-blow hammer. I went through this after buying a brand new Polish stock to mount on a Bulgarian milled receiver. Just take it slow since you want a nice snug fit.
