How often should I contact a gunsmith to check on status of a job?

    In a shop where there are several gunsmiths working some of them specialize on certain areas of expertise. Any pistolsmith worth hiring should be able to do a standard 1911 trigger job, but not too many capable of a safe sub 2 lb. Not many would even consider promising a 1lb trigger.

    The riflesmith may have a lot on his plate. Lathe work takes some time for setting up. Curing the bedding takes a week.

    They should've given an approximate date once that date is reached you can call them. If not complete then they should give you an update.
