    1911 ,full size, commander size .45 barrel

    Can you cut a barrel from a full size to have it fit in a Commander only because I can get one at a really good price.

    Anything can be done with enough time,money and effort
    That said - it could be a bit of work
    Some Gov barrels are not just a straight tube but tapered so the bushing has clearance to allow the barrel to tilt
    It could be used by turning the outside straight and using a spherical ring bushing but tuning may be an issue
    Or fitting an angled bushing

      YES, As long as the slide is setup for using a Barrel Bushing I have done several by chucking up in a mandrel and cutting to size in a lathe. Then chamfer the end and polish.
