1911 external extractor?

I'm looking at a slide that has an external extractor for one of my remaining frames. It's a sig/caspian slide, but it's stripped so it doesn't have the extractor in it. So my question is twofold... Are the external extractors ok? and where would I get one? I looked at all the places I've shopped for 1911 parts and I haven't been able to find any. Would I just need to call sig or caspian? Or should I just stay away?

egwguns.com is a great place for 1911 parts to include Sig Sauer. My TTT 1911 from Sig has external extractor, never had an issue.
