Fitting of oversized gas block to barrel

I have a 9mm barrel and I want to attach a railed gas block to it. Im well aware that a 9mm upper does not require a gas block. Im attaching the gas block as an attachment point and purely for cosmetic reasons. I dont want to get any more into that, so dont ask and dont comment.

The Yankee Hill railed gas block has an inner diameter of .750 inches.

The barrel has an outer diameter of .695 inches.

So i need to fill up slightly more than half an inch of space between the barrel and gas block. Im envisioning some kind of sleeve between the two. Id like to minimize ring marks on the barrel, but that is not essential. What is essential is a secure fit.

I have been searching for a better sized railed gas block but have thus far failed to find it. If you know where I can find an inside diameter railed gas block in .695, please let me know.

What would you recommend I use to fill the gap between the barrel and gas block? The gas block attaches by two separate rings, not a continuous surface.

    Thanks

You have options. You could buy a .625 block and have it machined to .695. Or have your barrel sleeved to fit. Or get some .025 shim stock and make spacers for your block.

A 0.027" thick shim stack wrapped around the barrel will do it.
Re-profiling the barrel to 0.625" and using a 0.625" gas block is the professional solution.
