Hey All,
I have been looking for a CNC machine to complete 80%'s on (primarily AR-15's, but want to do a couple AR-10's and 1911's as well).
I've read through a number of threads on Calguns, and I'm certainly open to my approach being wrong (it's just a hobby, not a business, though)...and if it is, I'll have to rethink it and go from there.
Is a desktop CNC sufficient? It looks like there's room on the table, even with the spindle in place (the Z-space is 5.4"; the table is 25"x17"). I can get the Nema 23 or 34 motors (based on what I've read the 34's sound like a better option).
Finally, I have no idea what spindle to buy...this was recommended as a possibility: http://www.dewalt.com/tools/router-a...ts-dnp611.aspx (although I've also seen complete routers recommended)
While I understand the axis-movement, I'm really not sure what to do about the spindle. It looks like 1-1/4 HP is minimum for aluminum (and specifically what I want to do).
My 80%'s are all TM's 7075's (raw/not anodized).
Any help is appreciated...TIA!
