    ares armor jig

Do not buy it!! I'm new here and don't know if this has talked about but it's $h!t. If you have a pro mill machine you can give it a shot but it still required some Dremmel work to get the trigger to slide in. For you guys doing this with minimal tools and experience there are much better jigs that make it easy for you. I hate doing this cuz the guys ate ares oceanside have been cool but I hate seeing people waste money.

Ares is and always will be a place that is looking to make a quick buck. and they don't give a damn about anybody or their money.

Ask around and you will find a bunch of guys that still have yet to get a refund or the parts they back ordered.

OP...how much research did you do before your purchase ??
Are the holes in the jig out of spec, or is it that you have never fabricated before ?

That's where the problem is IMHO...you bought something without doing your homework.

And then to come on and slam ARES cause you don't know what you are doing ?? WOW.

FWIW, I done DOZENS of lowers with a 1 time use ARES jig.
I've had to modify it for use with other lowers, but it works.

Is some hand fitting required on most 80% lowers....yes.
But that is almost ALWAYS required when building from scratch.

      EDIT....
So after looking at your other post, I have something else to say
You claim that your ARES jig is a POS, and then warned others against buying it.
But that didn't stop YOU from trying to SELL IT to someone in the classifieds.

      2 posts....and 2 douche bag moves.

Care to make it a hat trick ??

          The real one.

Say what you want but for that kind of money at least the numbered plates should be leveled all the way around. The thing doesn't sit all the way flat. It took some serious work with a dremmel to get everything to fit. If you have a mill machine, like I said it, it can be done but most people dont. One the of the Allen screws took a decent amount of force to go in. If you took a second to read what I wrote you would see that I was just letting the unit experienced guys on here know to not get it. But you must have been busy blowing ares at the time. It's a lot of money and people should know.

Also at no point did I offer to sell the jig. I posted it so someone who didn't have one could use it for FREE. a a a a a and that was before I had even given it a go myself.

I bet you feel real tough calling people names on the Internet hu? That's just rude man. At no point did I disrespect anyone on here. Real classy. Typical forum bully

1st, you slammed Ares, and that was disrespectful IMHO.
You obviously joined just to slam Ares.
2nd, no where in my post did I call you a name...I questioned your motives.
So your post has a few holes in it.

I just pointed out the errors of your ways.
Forum bully ?? Look at your own post.
                Hypocritical post on your part.

You called me a douchebag. In what planet is that not calling someone names. You my friend are lost in the sauce. It says your a senior member. Maybe you should go re familiarize yourself with the forum rules specifically number 7.

I joined so I can learn about building AR 10s. I wish I had enough time in my day to join a forum just to bash people. Go find someone else to mess with cuz your making yourself look worse and worse and I'm sure you downward decline haven't reached its low point.....

This place is mild. Go over to the AK file or the AR files and see how long you last.

So what your telling me is that it's OK for people to be rude, not have any manners, and verbally harass people in forums. I've been on many forums and the sad part is that there are a lot of people like you and toddh who think it's cool but the fact is that it's not.

Tough skin hu? I'm pretty sure they issue that where I work partner.

if toddh could have responded like a civilized person instead of an Internet tough guy then we could have had a normal adult conversation but instead we are here and I am forced to keep making people look stupid

                            So... this just happened, hmm?

So wait, let me get this straight...

New member joins to warn people about not buying the Ares jig, it is a POS and nobody should use that useless POS. Then starts another thread to sell the said POS used?

Then, to make things golden he takes offense to people telling him that it is rude to join just to trash XXX?

OK, works for me... wait, was that Capitalism at its finest?

(yes, another whiskey moment so take it with a grain of salt)
