Does anyone know of someone in the So Cal area who could
test fire a 1911 from a Ransom Rest?

I have one with the 1911 inserts. Where are you?

      And what is your expectation?

I had 1911 recently built and I wanted to see how accurate it is.

Head off to the range first. That will tell you a bunch.

Then please report back your findings.

I normally shoot the steel targets at Angeles Shooting Range.

With this 1911, I can hit the 6" steel plate at the 100ft line about 50% of the time. I hope to improve with practice.

This pistol is a 6 inch longslide in 9mm. It has a KKM barrel with a 1:32 twist rate.

I shoot a load from Atlanta Arms that uses the 115gr Hornady XTP bullet with Starline brass.

I figure if I could have it tested in ransom rest, I could see just how well it was made.

Unfortunately, the pistolsmith who built it does not have one.

go to the rifle side and rent a sand bag rest at the office . That should give you an idea on how your gun shoot. Place the target out to 10 to 15 yds out.
What kind of sight do you have on your pistol
