    AK pistol help

Anyone live near Cerritos that can help me with my AK Pistol problem. A lot of times when I feed a round in, the bolt seems to be gliding over the round and jamming it into the chamber. I tried my best to fix the problem, hopefully one of you can help.

The mag probably sits too low. I'm actually not sure how to fix that...

yeah, sometimes after the receiver is bent, the angles wont be perfectly 90 degree bends, so when you start to rivet the receiver together, the bottom portion will buldge. hence lowering the mag some. I say grab a wood block and hammer the bottom in a bit.

          +1 what mason said.
          Depends on mag too.
          It happened on my AK.
I had a slight bulge on the bottom of the receiver, hammered it flat with a block of wood, problem went away; except when I use my 10 round Chinese mags.
So I filed to top of the back "tab" on my 10 round Chinese mag a bit and the problem went away.

But it really depends on how dramatic is your "glide jamming".

Most of the time my bolt will glide over the round and get caught up in the middle of the round (biting into the case and causing a dent in the case).
If your bolt glide over the round and only catches the tip of the bullet then your mag is probably sitting lower than mine.

Did you use a tapco flat? if so thats probably why, I use tapco flats because I dont have the proper bending jig and they arent they best, just more convienent for me and ima cheapass. I built 5 rifles and 3 of them functioned fine, 2 of them the mag sat low, You either need to mess with the magazine so it can sit higher, or mess with the selector stop so it will allow the magazine to sit higher. Or you can take a hammer and a punch and try to tap the receiver a bit more upwards if everything else doesnt work. Show us some pictures on how low its sitting.

Yeah, I have messed with the mags before, but now I wouldn't touch a mag. Its easier to fix a rifle than all my mags.

And yes some pics would help!

careful filing of the selector stop tab under the mag catch. try several different IMPORTED METAL mags for fit. check the mag stabilizer rails (ak builder flats) they usually need trimming.

+1 to what everyone else said. You can also bend the rails down a bit to bring the bolt closer to the mag.
