    Engraving an AR lower

    Hi Guys!

Hopefully this is the right place to post this question. I inherited an AR-15 due to my cousin's passing. I wanted to get his name engraved on the lower as a tribute to him and his memory. There is a local engraving place in my city who says they do guns, but I would have to leave it with them for about a week. I was planning on only bringing in the lower to whoever does the job- but i just dont feel 100% comfortable with leaving the lower with a shop that is not an FFL.

    SO, my question(s) is:

Do you know a gunsmith/gun store who does engraving in the Los Angeles area?

What is the legality on leaving a lower with a non FFL?

Thank you guys! I really appreciate it.

It is not legal to leave a lower with a non FFL, you have to stay on the premises while the work is being done.

I'm from SD so I can't help with an engraver local to you but someone should be along shortly with info.
You could even take it to a gun friendly trophy type engraver and wait while he does the engraving, that's what I do down here.
