Anyone in the LAX/ So. Cal. area has a 5.56 NATO chamber reamer and willing to let a fellow CG'er use to ream an AR .223 barrel? answer by PM.

the 5.56 leade is nearly twice as long as the .223 Rem. leade, do you have one?

ands lead would be the throat. get a throating reamer and just cut the throat. If you try to to just use a 5.56 reamer there's a good chance you'll screw up the chamber.

And no I don't have one at least not one i'll loan

That was my thought as well. Don't get me wrong, I am not the kind of guy who will never loan tools. I loan plenty of tools to those I trust, and those willing to come to my shop, I use even looser standards for using tools that stay here.

And I'd never loan a chamber reamer. All it would take is one guy who goes a quarter turn backwards with a chip in the wrong spot and I got an attractive paperweight.

              You mean that one.

The last tool i loaned out was a home made sight pusher. it never returned. I stopped loaning tools and that was twenty years ago

That an the Oath keepers in in his sig line don't instill any confidence in me. I was contacted three different times by three different "oath keepers" all of which were whack jobs, borderline Timothy Mcvay types. with the individuals they let in to the group it doesn't sit well with me.

Reamers are a little expensive to loan out to people you don't know, and easy to screw up.

Not to mention cheap to rent, especially for common cartridges, including insurance. For those not wanting to for out the $100.

No 5.56 reamers are listed there.
It's probably because no self respecting machinist who would chamber a barrel would ever knowingly choose to chamber in 5.56.
