Remington Model Four gas system

A guy I work with has an old Remington Model Four, semi-auto 30.06 rifle that he is having trouble with. It can be used as a bolt action but it wont cycle. He has cleaned it several times, inspected the magazine, tried different rounds, chamber is clean no rust no lube.

We were talking about it last week and again this AM, I've not seen the gun. One thing he would like to try is to see if the there are any issues with the gas system, does anyone have a good link to a diagram for this gun? I looked around but did not find much.

I think I have found the problem. There is a part called an orifice ball that may have been stuck. I cleaned the ball and orifice and hope that works. Will test fire again this weekend
