Cool tool find

Was walking the dog this last week, when I chanced upon a older gent having a yard sale a few blocks from my house. I noticed a mill and some other tools in his garage....

$400.00 later and these are mine. Plus a box of mills, bits, chucks and other mill accessories.

The mill is a beast at 660 lbs... Took three of us and a engine hoist to get it on on and off a trailer. When I finish building my shop, Ill get a bench to set it on...

Do yourself a favor. If you're not going to use them soon, rub down all the bare metal with oil. Any kind of oil is better than nothing, LPS3 is probably the best.

I'll Jump in on that Story

My recent find follows the same story line. Neighbor told another neighbor that I had a mill back-ordered from Grizzly. Neighbor #2 said " I have a mill he can have". Story made it's way back to me - so I went for a look. Wasn't too impressed with the machine - but wanted the tooling.

$100 and a bottle of Crown Royal...

I am not a big fan of those combo lathe-drill-mill machines.

You got way more than $100 of tooling ... more than a bargain ... more like a steal ... I am envious!
