    18TPI R700 clone?

I have a takeoff barrel from what I believe is an R700 clone but it's 18TPI. After doing some research it seems like BAT, Borden, Haverkamp, and the STOLLE action all use an 18tpi. All are very well regarded actions. Any thoughts as to why they chose 18tpi instead of 16 like the Remington?

    18TPI R700 clone?

No idea why, except to be different.
It might have to do with some of the actions being aluminum.

Does the barrel have a cone breech or a counterbore?

Cone breach. I'm fairly sure it came off a borden palma gun which explains a fair bit. I have a carbon steel barrel in this batch as well 16tpi cone breach, need to clean it, inspect it, re-chamber it and park it. You heat your tanks once a week yeah?
