Akbuilder tong tip question

I'm waiting on a response from akbuilder but I'm impatient so I wanted to ask here in the meantime. Here is my situation:

Harbor freight no longer sells the older model spot welder so I have to buy the newer model.
Ak builder is out of the extended tong tip (top) for the newer model spot welder and the description makes it sound as though you must use the extended tip on the new model spot welder in order to use the akbuilder lower tong.

Am I stuck waiting until the tips are back in stock OR do I look for the eBay/speedway spot welder and buy tongs from akbuilder for that one? Now I also can't tell if the lower tong from akbuilder is compatible with the speedway spot welder..

Is my question clear as mud?

I'm in the same boat. I have the spot welder, and the new tong. Due to my lack of patience when ordering things I didn't realize I'd need the extension. I finally got around to putting the tong in the welder, and I realized.... I need the extended tip.

I'm sure bending the tong is an option, but I'm not crazy about that idea. I think I'll just wait until the tip is back in stock.

You need the tips
