    Replace Barrel Extension to M4

    Hi just a question any shops out there that work on AR barrels willing to replace the barrel extension ?

    or just buy a barrel with the M4 ramps

    like to hear any opinions and see what you guys think thank you

    The existing extension can be cut into M4 ramps. Changing it is kind of a 50/50 possibility, as the gas port time and distance is already set. One would have to find an extension that was almost at correct time. The barrel shoulder could be cut to make proper location, then the chamber would be finished to headspace... the new extension would have to come to rest at between 10 and 11 oclock. Might get lucky.

      Now I know that I just can add the m4 cuts to my barrel hope I can find a place close to the Bay Area

        I can convert rifle feedramp extensions to M4 feedramp extensions, but I would never swap a barrel extension by choice.

          M4 feed ramps only benefit full auto

              If we are talking 5.56/223 rifles, I would agree.
              In cases larger in diameter than 5.56, there is a decent benefit to M4 ramps as the larger case diameter makes the cartridge sit lower in the magazine when it presents to the moving bolt.
