Duracoat and serial numbers

I want to Duracoat my 700 but having never used Duracoat i am not sure of how thick it applies, will i need to be worried about the SN getting filled in?

You don't need to apply it that thick.

Use light coats, I did a Krink build a few years ago, on a nodak receiver and it did not cover the markings.

I use it on most of my guns and it should be applied in multiple thin coats. If you put it on thick enough to fill the S/N, it's too thick.

if you follow the directions and apply it accordingly it will be very thin and not change the looks of the stamped/engraved numbers or roll mark.

If you are that worried go with air cured Cerakote, it is more durable than Duracoat and can be sprayed inside and on parts ....... so less work masking the insides.

it's not the coating, it's how it's applied.

Its really thin, no issues seeing serial numbers
