    AK Top Handguard Help

OK.. my very nice AK build is still working perfectly.. but.... the retainer or front piece (what ever the correct term is) for the top handguard (Tapco Plastic handguard)is slipping on the gas tube (Romy G kit) spot weld or?

If you have access to a spot welder, you could fix it. If not, just get a new gas tube.

Yeah your options are pretty much weld it or get a new one. I'm surprised it's loose tho, haven't seen that one before.

yup.. I fired 4 10rnd mags rapid fire and the handguard fell off.. I saw the front retainer had moved 3/4" forward.. I have never seen this before either.... Oh well.... I just ordered a new E. German gas tube from K-Var. I'm going to see if I can get one of my welding buddy's to weld it as keep the old one as a spare.

I ordered a new east German tube from K-Var. Got it today... it looks absolutely beautiful!!! I looks to have never been on a rifle!!! very tight fit on my Romy G assembly but it went on with a little tap of my ruber mallet.. at least it doesn't rattle around like my old one did. I'm going to get the old one spot welded sometme soon.

                I can weld it.

I have a spare sitting around if you want to borrow it.

Are you going to be up at Chabot on the 27th?
