    1. Your rod is not constantly moving with the follower, it will be stuck on the base (Should help with durability).

    2. When you leave CA, couldn't you remove the base plate, remove the bottom spring holder (with rod), and reassemble with the spring resting on the base plate?

Would this solution be acceptable or do I have to epoxy the base onto the mag?

Here is a pic showing a wooden dowel in the follower, and one in the bottom spring holder:
From what I was told and in my reading of the law, I believe the modification has to be permanent and non-reversible.

Kinda defeats the Purpose of Marking this thread as a Place to go for an info-How to source, when one cant come to it and extract ALL of the information needed.
Or someone could PM/email the OP and ask them to fix the post

        Nice tutorial!

However, I see several issues with this, or similar methods:

        1. This is permanent, if you move to a free state your stuck with 10/30 mags forever, until you buy more real 30's.

        2. For only around $5 each, you could buy these MagBlocks and achieve the same thing; then remove to go back to a 30 if you move to free state. Or copy this design using wood or plastic.

        3. Although they (10/30's) look cool, I'm not a big fan of attracting more attention. If it looks like an "illegal" 30, it may cause an undue inspection/hassle by a LEO!

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one.

Doesn't CA law require that they be permanent?

Oh and it doesn't take much imagination to see how you could revert these to true 30rd magazines if you move away from CA.
