Yugo sks problem

So hypothetically, if someone bought a yugo sks on gunbroker and it showed up still wearing a non modified GL, what would you folks recommend as a sleeve to render it legal and as aesthetically pleasing as possible? Hypothetically speaking of course. Thanks

Weld a ring around the GL, and machine it flat- or weld a big blob underneath and grind it square to block insertion of grenade.
