    PLEASE.... NEED HELP!!!!

I need help with my S&W 4506. I completely disassembled it (detailed strip) and now I can't seem to get everything in. Please any advice or any visual materials would greatly be appreciated. And yes I know I shouldn't have done this unless I was a "trained Professional".

    Thanks Guys....

Don, did you field strip it or detail strip it? There is a difference between the two.

Good post uclaplinker. He will be able to tell if he is missing any parts and where to order them if he is.

Here's a tip for everyone else.
If you are going to detail strip a gun, take pictures along the way.
You will never remember exactly where/how each spring overlaps/engages each part and what specific order you have to assemble things.

Thanks guys for all the info. One last question though, the disconnector #6 where does that go? Is the top of the disconnector suppose to be sticking out of the hole in the middle of the two ejector springs #13? Once again thanks sooo..... much for all the help. I am a fairly new member to CalGuns and by far this is the most helpful site I have been on.

The disconnector sticks up through the frame and engages the slide.
If you look at the bottom of the slide, you will see where it rides and note that it gets pushed down based on the slide moving into and out of lockup.
One purpose of the disconnector is to keep the hammer from being able to release when the slide is not locked in battery.
The other purpose is to keep the gun from firing more than one shot per trigger pull.

Don, Next time you have a couple of brews, which of your guns will you be detail stripping next?

Definitely it will be my glock. So... much easier and not so many small parts to keep track of. I HATE it when there are parts left over after the gun has been "reassembled".
