    Broken Trigger Guard Tabs

Ok, I was rushing a lower build, and managed to break one of the tabs that holds the trigger guard roll pin. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Or am I better off replacing the lower?

    Thanks

Guys who are not concerned with Cosmetics just put in the Magpul Grip with Integrated Trigger Guard, and call it a day. If you really want to fix it, you can try JB Weld.

Here is a great fix we used in country.

You will need to get a MAGPUL MIAD Grip with the trigger guard so you won't need to use the roll pin.

      and some JB Spot Weld

Reatach the broken ear with the JB Weld and let it cure for two days. Next install the MIAD Grip.

Mine has lasted 3 deployments and is still holding.

Someone with good TIG welding skills could probably fix that too.

This is why you are supposed to properly support the tab when driving in that pin...

I had a similiar break come into the shop a few months ago.

What I did was drill into the receiver where the break ocurred and into the tab that had broken off(parallel to the side of the lower.
Then turned a pin that was undersized, knurled it then devconed it in place slid the tab over the pin and clamped it until it cured. dressed it then gave it a shot of aluma-hide. On retrospect there a couple of things I'll do differently if another one comes in like that, cosmetically anyway

I usually use a set of pliers to squeze them in.

whew thats what i did and i had no idea that this tragic event could happen

the slip jaw pliers i had worked perfectly on the extended position

i guess worst case you could put the pin throught the front and use the springloaded side on the back side

I would go with the pinning and epoxy method, it works.

Just break off the other one (in the name of symmetry), file them smooth, aluma-hide, and get a MIAD full kit... done deal.
