    engraving in norcal

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum
Does anyone know a good engraver or etcher (or even someone who could stamp) in Northern California. Primary concern is having it conform to the legal standards (depth, serial # format, etc.)[Less concerned about adding art]. Looking to do (2)AR and (1) AK receivers.

I can only engrave 80% lowers (or frames) that have not had any work done to them.
If they are finished you will need to find someone with an FFL.
If they are still 80% drop me a line. Thanks

Also looking for someone to do engraving.
Does the engraver have to have an FFL ?
Can't the engraver do it if you stay there and wait while it is being done ?

Took an item to Tanners Engraving in San Jose and it came out great! Real nice guy to deal with and was about a week turn around.

Messed up two pieces after hand holding the owner through the job and spoon feeding all the information and details. I painstakingly prepared the correct file formats for his antiquated machine and process (Corel 6 or whatever 1995 software he is using). He does not know any new programs or techniques. I then sent the exact reference images with placement and designs, 1 for each piece. This was an update to an older email. He never bothered to take a look at what was sent or is incompetent as you can not ask for any more clear direction.

3 weeks after dropping off the piece for work, I called just to get an update on the project or see if it was started. He begins with a rant about how these jobs are complicated, he will get to it whenever and ends the conversation with "you can pick them up if you can't wait". I was just asking when they would be ready after 3 weeks with no update. Great attitude for a business owner.

                        3) Owner posts a picture of the project without my knowledge or consent on the site. When confronted, says his wife put it up, total bs.

                        Time to retire Tom...

                          Clueless customer

First customer with a posted complaint after 500+ lowers. Has no idea what is involved in engraving a lower with a customer designed custom layout (3 different ones). Did not inform me of any errors at time he picked up or at any other time. Came back for additional engraving after first lower, but is totally unsatisfied? Most all customers are more than completely satisfied! See other post under Tanner's. I do lowers as a sideline so if it takes time, that is what it takes and I inform the customers of this.

An occasional mistake is made, get over it ! Already had the original text programmed (one meaningless word, which is what you originally wanted) when you made the change and sent semi useable logos. I just forgot to change it after screwing with your logos for hours. Has nothing to do with functionality of the rifle.
