    Hello and welcome to CalGuns!
I had one of these for a while and had similar problems at first.
    Suggestions:
    Carefully check the magazine catch.
The part of the catch the overlaps the bottom of the magazine should have full engagement.
If the catch is just grabbing the edge of the magazine, the mag will drop down too low to feed properly.
If the feed is too low, the round, if it goes into the chamber, will likely not fully chamber.
When you pull the trigger, the firing pin releasing and moving forward will cause the slide to close the rest of the way, but there won't be enough energy left to fire the round.
To fix this, you may need to file a small notch into the rear back edge of the floor plate to allow the catch to get a good hold on the mag body.
This will cause the mag to sit slightly higher and should fix the feed / fire problem.

Also be sure the magazine is clean inside and the spring has good pressure pushing the follower up.

Once the mag is correctly held in place, you should be good to go.
Test using a quality ammo like CCI mini-mags.

I would also suggest you look carefully at the small pivot pin for the extractor.
Mine wanted to come out, I lightly staked the top of the pivot pin hole in the slide to keep the pivot pin in.
