    Canis Bastard

    Not that bad to install

Roughed it in with my buddies Bridgeport by hand, and did the final fitting by hand with files.

The last round bold hold open needed a lot of hand fitting to work properly.

Only issue besides the LRHO, is I am putting it on a nodak receiver that was hiding in the back of the safe. The front tab of the adaptor covers half the SN. Gonna have to trim it a bit to clear it.

This is gonna be a 5.56 with 5.45 bolt and carrier. I can only find the short lug 5.56 bolts, and that means AKM trunnion, and most all the barrels out there that work are 22mm.

Tell me how well that works for ya. I was thinking of it but knew it wasn't right. If I was to do it and could not get a 5.56 parts kit I'd try to use a 7.62 bolt and have it micro welded then machine it to fit.

I guess...you can use the existing 5.56 bolts that kavar sells the are the short lug AKM type. The bulgy short lug bolt fits in all my 7.62 carriers but will not fit in my 5.45 carriers. Then use a AKM trunnion and a 5.56 bullet guide. Then source a 23mm barrel. This is the way it was explained to me so I might be wrong.

I had a bunch of ak74 parts so I went with a AKbuilder 5.56 barrel and a 74 trunnion. Since sagia 223 bolts seem to non existent out side of a built gun, I was advised to use a 5.45 bolt. From what I hear it's one of the most common ways to get a 5.56 AK.
