    Question on Sig maintenance (p228/p229)

I'd really appreciate any advice on what parts I should replace for some older p228/p229 pistols (9mm and 40).

I have a couple Sigs from the early 90's and it doesn't look like they've ever had maintenance. I bought a spring kit for my p228 and boy was I surprised when the new recoil spring is about 3/4" longer than the beat up spring it came with.

Now I'm shopping for parts and was planning on replacing every spring and ordering a few spares.
    -Recoil spring
    -Firing pin spring
    -Hammer reset spring
    -Trigger bar spring (oldstyle)
    -Mainspring (oldstyle)
    -Hammerstrut rollpin
    -Decocker spring
    -Slidestop spring

    Should I also order:
    -Hammer strut
    -Mainspring seat (oldstyle)
    -Firing pin
    -Sear spring
    -???

Also I haven't seen any maintenance schedule besides changing recoil spring every 5,000 rounds. Are the other springs optional?

    Thanks!

I'm surprised no one has input/advice on this...

Wasn't having much luck finding info before I posted, but I finally found what I was looking for.

Thanks for the link. I have 2 old Sigs, a 226 and a 228. I had to take both of them apart to replace/rebend the extractor after a cartridge failure. They have a much different extractor than the new ones.

My advice is to keep the slides well greased so that they stay in good shape over the years.
