A friend of mine has both an AMD65 parts kit and a demilled MAK90 (basically a parts kit too). He asked me a few questions but I'm not familiar enough with the varieties of the AK platform to really answer them.
1. He wants to build the AMD65 with a standard fixed stock instead of the side folder it comes with. Does he just need to get a standard AKM flat and a standard rear trunnion? Are there any issues with rivet placement on the front end of the flat or holes lining up?
2. I don't really know how different the MAK90 is from your basic AKM. Is the rear trunnion different or the receiver a different shape? Does that also just need a standard 1mm AKM flat or is there one specific to that shape?
I'm going to recommend he get his parts from ak-builder but I want to make sure I'm steering him in the right direction.
