Would like to change the mag release from the right side to the left.

Did your rifle come with the ambidextrous release or a standard AR mag release?
You would likely need to go to a featureless configuration if you want an ambidextrous or a left side magazine release if you are in CA as I am not aware of any magazine locking devices that work on the left side.Randall Rausch
