    front sight removal

    Most of my rifles have screw hold downs, this one dosen't anyone know the correct way to remove this

    get a big hammer.

    OR

    give us some more information... like what rifle.

        If you are attempting to remove the ramp, don't.

          It is silver brazed on. Very high temp stuff.
          Why do you need to remove it?

              Apply 1200˚ F heat to ramp until solder bubbles and falls off.

              Good luck getting it back on.

                Was going to take it off because I bought a nice post scope for it for my dad. What years did they silver braze it on because on my remington 700 its attached with screws

                  No idea but just shove the insert back in and leave it alone. It will not interfere with the scope in any way unless you ultra low mount it. and it will not look out of place.

                  If you do remove it you will have a raw spot ibn the steel and you will need to reblue to fix it.

                    Nice thing to do for your Dad.

                    I believe 722's and early 700's were brazed.

                    That ramp is held on with two leavers.

                    If you know what you are doing, use leaver A

                    If you don't.... then leaver be.
