    Change Mag Release

    Hi,

How hard is it to change a mag release on a 1911? I am thinking of swap out my standard mag release to an extented one. Any special tool needed? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Not difficult. Use a proper fitting screwdriver. Push the mag release in from the left as you normally would to release a magazine while applying LIGHT counterclockwise pressure to the screw (it's not actually a screw, but a 1/4 turn locking tab). You'll feel the tab engage it's retaining slot when you push the release in far enough. Don't force it, it will break if you do. Assembly is the reverse.

It took me about a minute to figure it out for the first time. It ain't rocket science in the least.
