Unfortunately, the whole idea of build parties has been stopped by ATF&E's recent interpretation of how a home built firearm can be legally manufactured. I suggest contacting an attorney who specializes in firearms related law and/or contacting AFT&E to get the legal skinny on personally manufactured firearms intended only for personal use.

That would address the businesses who were doing one type of receiver only. In the past, there have been build parties where MAC clones, Stens, AKs, 10-22s, 1911s, 1919s, etc. have been built without a mill at all. However, due to the IDIOTS who saw big dollars buy charging people to push a button, all legitimate build parties (where friends get together and pool their equipment and knowledge to help each other) have become a thing of the past.
