    80% jig questions (AR)

    I'm wanting to get a jig, but want to get one that is or can be made to be as universal as possible. What I mean is, I want it to work on a variety of 80%s from different companies. I read on the websites of these places that sell them, and it says works on most billets and forged. Some of them say for forged receivers. So what are the differences in outside configurations that give you a problem w/ the 80% or jig. I'm fairly understanding, and have a better understanding than most average do it yourselfers on machining, but have little experience w/ guns. So if you guys can tell me where the problem areas are, or suggest a particular jig, and why, I'd appreciate it. I'm pretty picky and precise when it comes to this stuff. THANKS

    If I were to do it again CNC Guns jig. Has lots of features others don't have.

      I have a JT-15 lower that would not fit in a common jig because of the raised skeletonized channel on the mag drop side & around the bolt latch. That is an example of a lower that would require the jig be modified with channels. So watch for odd shapes - like slanted magwells or raised channels or overly flaired magwells.

          I'm following you glock_this, that makes sense. I've seen those big fender looking things. I'm glad you said around bolt catch, because I wouldn't have thought about that.
