i just wanted to have a list of all the screw threads on the ar-15



front sight post 8 - 36

muzzle - 1/2 - 28

barrel extension 13/16 - 16

grip screw 1/4 x 28

receiver extension 1 3/16 - 16

a1 a2 upper stock screw 1/4 x 28

a2 lower stock screw/sling mount

magazine release 10 -32

m4 mount knobs

rear sight windage screw

well all i can say is that the quarter x 28 will not fit in the lower stock hole that attaches to the sling swivel

They could be different as all 3 stocks are different...

i thought they used the one on the m14

M1 and M14 rear sling swivel threads are 12-28. There is enough difference that the 1/4-28 wont work. Not sure about the 16. Will check tomorrow, but I wager it is the same.
