Findings: Rtv charging handle with seekins upper and new Mod

So I'm building a SBR 300blk with a 10.2" Noveske barrel. I always RTV my charging handle to get rid of any excess gas to the face while using my suppressor. I just got in my new seekins forged upper and BCM Mod 4 charging handle. First thing I noticed was how much smaller the gap between the top of the charging handle and upper receiver is compared to my PSA upper with BCM charging handle. I was very impressed by the fit and finish of the upper as well. Only thing I wish it had was t-marks on the top.

Photo shown above is with the rtv mod already done.

Before doing the rtv mod, I was looking at the gas buster charging handle and how it re-routed the gasses. The BCM CH looked thick enough on the bottom to cut a groove out of it. It is such a small groove that I'm not worried about messing with the structural rigidity of the charging handle. I cut the groove using a dremel. After it was cut and smoothed to my liking, I taped up the CH and hit it with a bit of Alumahyde II and then put it in the oven for 3 hours. Here is the result:

I still haven't built the SBR upper as I'm waiting on the Form 1 and then the rest of the parts. Just thought I'd share. Once it's all done I'll report back here with the results.

i dont think its a difference in the uppers, i heard BCM recently changed up the CH so it would have less gap/gas to the face

I compared it to my PSA upper before I RTV'd it. There is definitely a large difference compared to the seekins.
