    AR15 Jig

    Hello All!

Just received the StealthArms jig and forged 7075 80% lower i ordered from IeTactical.com and was wondering if anyone else had ordered one from them?

After putting the jig together I am curious on how to mill the slot for the rear takedown lug for the upper. I could do this with measurements but am I missing something with the jig? The "How To" video on their website shows that hole pre milled and does not mention it.

This picture from a different site suggests the lower should already come with that section hollow

    Drill press plate

    Finishing plate

    Trigger hole plate

    All 3 plates for reference.

Any ideas or input on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same jig and lower. You can leave the back end alone since they machined it out already you don't have to worrie. to you can complete the milling process once you've finish the rest of it. One thing before you start double check the specs on the jig. The dealer I got mine from said some of the jigs were out of spec and they sent all of them back.

Well as you can see from the pictures, there is no machined area ready to accept the rear lug of the upper, hence why i am asking about it.

        Send it back!
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

You can put the front pivot pin in the upper and then trace the rear take down lug from the upper so you know how far back to extend the shelf. Don’t forget to remove the bolt holding the side plates together.

Just mill it out from the dimensions. It's a very simple hole, don't make it too wide. If you think you can finish the rest of the fire control pocket, but not free cut the hole for the upper lug, you should practice more. Practice is great for any of these things.

i look like the company you purchased the jig from is use to selling there jigs to the customer who buy there lowers, there lowers obviously have the rear fire control pocket milled out already. if you want a jig that will for on pretty much all lowers out there take a look at our jig here is a pic

only 125 it comes with steel bushing and a lifetime warranty

The lower you received looks like it's from a forging, while the upper picture looks like it's from a billet?

Did you have a choice and picked the forging?

                        Thanks for the input everyone.
From what i have come to gather there was an oversight in selling this lower with this jig as the jig is intended to be used with a lower with that pocket already hollow. I'm contemplating on just doing it myself or contacting the supplier and asking wtf, but is it worth the hassle?
Since i've already drilled the trigger/hammer/safety holes, wouldn't it not be considered 80% anymore and more like 85% and now a "firearm" and not quite returnable?

The upper picture is from the StealthArms actual kit advertisement and yes its a billet, the lower pictures are mine and is a forging.
This is copied from the advertisement i purchased.
