journal for front sight is too large

47 profile barrel, front sight journal is .575, sight is .570.

    Barrel needs abrasive tape?

    What other options?

    *edit*

AKM profile barrel, barrel is .575, sight is .570

Is there a lot of play? if so, Knurl it, so it can be a pressure on fit.

Front sight is made of what material? If it's steel build up a small spot weld on the sight and dress it down with a file to bring it in to spec. Of course just the sight not the dovetail.

you need a lathe to turn it down but it to close to turn with out a long drawn out set up.. I'd file it then sand it.

Erm, nothing similar to a flap wheel to get inside sight?

Given enough time, it could be done.
A lathe and a file wold take minutes.
I would not want to ponder grinding the FSB bore bigger when making the barrel smaller is so much easier...

The last time I had this issue I reamed the FSB slightly and that worked well, no need to filing nor sanding. Ream and press on.

Black nitrided barrel, trying to keep the finish.

I'd be scouring ebay for a 0.574" reamer then.
A letter B adjustable reamer would do it as well.

I used an adjustable, and that's what I'd suggest instead of a fixed diameter reamer, in case you are off by your measurements.
