1911 sight question

Thanks can you tell me if it's novak, dovetail etc. most sight I seen is perfect rectangle base mines kind of look a bow tie with a roll pin in it ! I don't whether to lift up or it will somehow slide to sideComment

The bowtie shape is a result of the round top of the barrel. Once you get the sight out, it will be a rectangle looking from the top. It's a Springfield cut. Here's Dawson's page to explain.

Huh? If you're asking if it just slides off, no it won't. It's a slight interference fit.

Sorry let me clarify I know it won't just come off . My question is since I can for foresee the" bow tight " does the sight get knock toward the side or my factory comes straight up after removing roll pin .Huh? If you're asking if it just slides off, no it won't. It's a slight interference fit.

Uh yeah the pin does hold the sight in.
Your front sight is a LPA cut.
The front sight is basically glued on as well as pinned. I don't know what SA uses but it's the same white gunk that is on their grip screws. I guess they don't want the sight moving.
Drive out the pin and then get ready for fun. I needed a sight removal tool to get mine off of my loaded. I put the Dawson fiber optic on mine which needed a bit of fitting. If you don't have the tools it will be worth it to pay $50 to have it put on.
Good luckI support peace through superior firepower.
