May be you could build an insert for another case to produce interference in the neck ,wood ,plastic? Chamber the made up case with some kind of glue on the neck ( being careful not to slop it inside the chamber sos not to produce an additional problem) let it setup & extract or use brass rod.

50BMGBOB reminded me that a friend of ours made up some .510 DTC broken case extractors a few years back. I'm waiting for him to respond with pictures of it. I'm sure I can duplicate it with a piece of 25-20 brass.

I prefer to do my own smithing when I can. If not, I'll take it to Randall, Sinister Arms, Addax or ask Fort Courage who they recommend for old Winchester lever action work. So, I've got a few smiths in mind if I can't do it myself.

VERY gentle pulling with a dental pick modified to have either a blunt point or with a small putty or plastic cover on the tip.

Make an asian technician with small hands and good eyes do this for you.

Note: I am NOT volunteering, even though I qualify and have the tools in question.

If you don't want to wait, the easiest way like it was said above, is use a brass brush.

Spray some penetrating oil into the chamber, take a .264 caliber brush and push it through the neck of the broken case just enough so that about 1/4" of the brush comes out the other end of the neck.

                Jerk back on the brush.

It's an 1892 lever action. I can't get a cleaning rod in from the chamber. I would have to go through the muzzle or disassemble the entire action. I've got some .270 brushes that I could use but, I'm trying not to take the whole action down.

Push the tight fitting brush down the bore from the muzzle.
If the friction of the bristles in the case neck is not enough, go ahead and push the rest of the brush through the chamber and into the opened action.
Now pull the brush about 3/8" back into the neck of the broken case, STOP there and PUSH the brush back towards the chamber.
The brush should lock-up tight in the case neck and pull what's left of the case out of the chamber.
Now, unscrew the rod from the brush and withdraw the rod.
The brush and case should come out of the ejection port.
A shorter "pistol" brush would be helpful here, or perhaps cut half the length of your 270 brush pff before you push it down the barrel...

Randall, I'll try that tonight. I hadn't thought about reversing the direction of the brush like that. If that doesn't work, I'm sure that a homemade broken case extractor will. I'm just waiting for pictures of Ken's homemade one. IIRC, it was a great design. I really need to start taking more pictures at matches.
