Anyone has any experience with it?
Have two of them. Certain brass (some milsurp) will hold up better than others (most commercial ammo).

I'll probably shoot some milsurp on my next trip to the range and test the effectiveness of the port buffer.

You could purchase one of these and coat it with (what ever its called ), plastic dip.

            Product Details
In the 1990's the German army updated its requirements for the G3 and made several improvements. One of these changes was the addition of a steel shell deflector placed at the rear of the ejection port. These new steel shell deflectors were produced by HK and were installed on all new HK G3 rifles. We have some of these deflectors in new-in-white, unissued condition.

Once installed spent casings will no longer fly 30 feet away but rather fall on the ground just forward of the shooter. Additionally re-loaders will love how these adapters lessen the damage done to valuable brass making reloading for the HK9X series more easy.

In the past we were only able to find used steel shell deflectors cut from demilled G3 rifles. Now for the first time we have these shell deflectors available new in wrap. These will make a great addition to any HK build and work on all HK style rifles including G3, HK91, PTR91, HK93/33, Vector93, Vector51, CETME and clones.

I've heard that the heavy buffer also slows down the ejection where it does not dent anymore. Just what I've heard. it's on my list of things to get, but not confirmed by me.

I have a lot of reloaded .308 out of a 91. Some of it I loaded 30 years ago and it shoots today just as it did in the 80s. Some if it is on the 4th or 5th trip through the dies. Haven't found a split one yet.
I have one of the bass buffers and it helps on both the dented cases and lessens the distance the brass flies.
                  spent my 2 cents..

I've been reloading HK brass for years, and I can assure you I'm not the only guy.

Tumbling in cob takes out the flute marks, it's mostly carbon.

Yeah, no problem with the flute marks either, no big deal honestly. Right now I am shooting steel until I get my hands on an HK ejection port buffer.

Get some extra thick Velcro Fuzzy side and stick it on the receiver for now , it will help alot!

Have at it for those wanting the real port buffer for the HK91/G3.

At the range, I like to play the game of finding my farthest-flung casings. They usually wind up 12-15 yards away at 1:30-2:00. It's very distinctively recognizable, striped and beat up.

One of these days I'll install a port buffer and rig a way to catch my brass. Here are some NIB HK G3 shell deflectors: http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/HK...CTOR-26p43.htm
