Which Receiver will work AK Build

I just picked up this parts kit from Classic - Bought the trigger kit and the 10rd Magazine as well -
Any suggestions on a well priced receiver -
I have built a suomi and a couple of AR's - I have never done an AK and want to add it to my collection
    here is the link

Dont have any bending jigs so may need something a little closer to complete - thanks in advance

If you're sticking with the AMD wire stock, I highly recommend the Nodak SPUD NDS65.

Thanks looks like they are out until next month

how hard is it to build using an incomplete receiver that I dont have to send through an FFL - stores around here want $100 for transfer

not hard to start with a flat with the right tools and jigs. Without them and in the current state of 80% building, you'll be stuck with a flat piece of steel. If you don't have access to the presses and jigs, another 80% option is to get a pre-bent 80% and then drill out the trigger pin holes and cut the rear so the AMD stock will fit correctly. you'll still need access to a spot welder or a welder of some sort and the tools needed to crush the rivets.

That may be the way to go - any direction on where to start the search - I have been looking at the receivers for months and cant figure out what makes them different - but then I havent seen all of the variations or done any of the builds -

          Thanks for the help

Akbuilder for flats if you go that route. Most of the difference is rivet hole locations and rear trunnion cuts. The amd65 is unique in the rear trunnion as no other ak shares the same cut outs to fit the side folder.

If you don't have the tools this kind might be easier. All you need is drill and a dremmel. The rails are already welded in. I have built one of these and it works fine. It doesn't save time but may be better if you don't have all the tools. http://www.hendersondefense.com/stor...ver-16p362.htm

Thanks - I had forgotten about the Henderson set up - looks like they are out of stock -
so did I make a mistake getting the AMD65 kit because of the side folder? I know I have to attach it permanently - would I have had more options with a different kit?
