    Cross-posted: Gunsmith help

Above thread is posted in the centerfire-semi-auto, but I probably should have posted it here.

Failure to eject problems encountered with new bolt. Above OP post has pictures which I hope accurately describe the problem: Rifle shoots fine, extractor pulls case out of the chamber, but it gets stuck in the bolt face and ejector does not fling it out of the port.

Any words of wisdom to be had here?
    Thank you for your help!

Maybe Weak/broken/dirty/rusted/jammed ejector sping on the bolt, or something obstructing the ejector. Soak it in some acetone or brake cleaner, then relube it. Removing the ejector and cleaning it would be ideal.

Thanks xfer42, It can be taken apart tonight and to check what's going on inside the bolt. Or is this something better taken to an actual gun smith?

This product supposedly has a lifetime guarantee, so returning to the vendor is certainly an option. But I think in cases like this the learning experience is valuable if it can be done by one's self.

If you can, take a picture of the boltface without the shell. Im guessing that the ejector isnt sticking all the way out.

Called AIM Surplus and spoke with their tech support. Helpful, responsive guy suspected that extractor tension was too tight. Suggested fix was to remove extractor retaining pin, remove O-ring, and re-install extractor and pin, and then test by doing what was already done pictured with the spent case.

Sure enough, ejector flung the case off of the bolt face, and chambering a spent case and closing the bolt, extractor/ejector now clears the case!

            Nice.
            Glad you got it resolved.
