I think I paid the same for my polish uf a year and a half ago. I think I paid $450 for everything from Curtis.

Kits aren't what they use to be, priced at least.

Currently to expensive for my blood. If they go on sale I may oblige. I'm much happier about the M90 kits they had for $275. Drop them down in that range and we're talkin

cold-hammer forged and chrome-lined will outlast any US barrel by maybe 10,000 more rounds...but hey that didn't come from my mouth..I just use them...

                    Ouch, $369 less a barrel.
I'm with Zamble on this one, having picked up some
                    clean Curtis kits last year.
A bit over priced IMO but if you gotta have one!

That is crazy expensive for what amounts to a bottom tier AK parts kit. IMO only kits that are of lower quality would be the late 1980's Romy G and Egyptian Maadi. The word is these "Md65" kits were export versions so not even domestic military use quality.

Unless you are a purist or lots of money to throw around it's starting to make more sense price wise to go with US built barrels on some builds. I have a few Romy barrels leftover from when you could get them for $80. But now people want an arm an a leg for one. You could get 5 US barrels for the price of one Romy. Doesn't make sense to pay the huge mark up for every rifle. Personally I would put a US barrel on a kit like this if I end up with one.

True. I don't mind US barrels because I don't think I'll shoot them enough. The only thing I scared of is bending the barrel during the build :/

so you're saying they will last me 2 lifetimes?
p.s. my polish fixed stock has a Romanian barrel but my Yugo has a green mountain one. Guess which is more accurate?

I have had 2 barrels bend and both were US barrels from Atlantic Firearms. I'll stick with the ones from Arms of America.
