Building out an FA308 as my first build. Want to put on an AR-15 skelotonized A2 buttstock and MMG. Am I correct in assuming I can do this if I also order a 308 buffer spring or do I need a 308 buffer assembly too?

depending on your stock ( rifle or carbine ). There are 2 different buffers. you need to specify which one you want. make sure you git an AR-10 spring too. If you get any of this in AR-15 you may risk a non-cycle or non-complete cycle. I went though it building my AR .308. It took few re-orders and extra 2 weeks untill I got the right stuff. Good luck.Comment

Thanks guys now I can get busy ordering stuff. csmintel, I saw the different buffers on-line, I will assume that an AR-15 A2 stock is a rifle stock and order accordingly.
Stock:
I think that will look good with an MMG......Comment

I bought a Magpull as a rifle stock, but I was building a sniper rifle. I post it for sale. here:
When I ordered magpull prs ar10 stock it came with a buffer tube but buffer and spring were from ar15. the person who ran the small internet site that i got it from just didn't know and sent me wrong parts. when I put it together...the cycle didn't go an extra half an inch. when I realized what the problem was- i compared lenght and it was not an AR10 lenght ( 1 inch longer for rifle style buffer and one inch shorter for spring ). When i got the right part- it worked like a clock. I got a new trg22 rifle and now selling my ar10 to offset the cost. i never got to fire it. good luck. hope my expirience helps you.Comment
