    Need 1/2 28 barrel attachment

I am building a 9" 7.62 Pistol and am having trouble finding a compensator/brake that is threaded 1/2-28 RH. AK Builder has a great looking one but in the wrong thread. Looking for some suggestions here similar to the Guntek Phantom Flash. I am not looking for anything that looks like a huge black fake suppressor or hotdog, but something very small and not costing $80-$100 bucks. The actual kit can be seen on the AK Builder web site for their 7.62 Pistol.

What barrel are you using that has that thread for 7.62? For my pistol build in 300blkout I only see 5/8 X24 threads. It is for an ak build?

A friend of mine built a AK pistol from AKbuilder with the 1/2 x 28 threads on the barrel, we took a standard 5.56 break and drilled out the end of it to ?7.86mm? cant remember the size P or Q bit I think... to work on his.

A $10 A2 comp has 1/2-28 threads and will clear 30 caliber bullets just fine.
You just need to cut a notch in it for the retainer if you are going to index it AK style.
          Otherwise, index with washers/shims.

thats what I did. I copied 858caspers build as best I could and I'm not ashamed to say it.

How about this one from CNCWarrior for nine bucks? They have others as well.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Think I'll look into the AR brake and make sure I mic it out so my first round doesn't send it down range! I'll have to use washers/shims as mine has not detent thingie.

Great feedback all, I truly appreciate it.

A typical A2 comp has a 10mm hole through the middle of it.

I think the Phantom flash hiders work as well, like the A2. I used to run a FAL barrel which was threaded 1/2-28.

The vortex FH also works but you have to enlarge the hole (around .325 works if I remember right). Same technique would work for most muzzle brakes too if you want a fiery noisemaker
