    1911 Plunger Tube Staking

I'm in the L.A./Burbank area....anyone has that special tool for staking plunger tube to 1911 frame?....or is there a practical way to do it with common tools?

I'm in the process of attempting (as best as I can) to assemble a 1911 frame. I prefer to try to do it myself for hands on learning & experience.

You need the tool to do it - I have one that needs to be done too. Any local gunsmith should be able to do it for you.

Wish I had "big boy toys" to make my own....I guess there may not be an alternative, but to either purchase a staking tool, or use the services of a gunsmith.

I read that some have used red loctite to secure the plunger tube instead of staking it in, but not quite sure how strong that would be over the long run.
